Amelie Chelmey is a minor character in the game Professor Layton and the Curious Village. She is married to the real Inspector Chelmey and is only seen in a newspaper article that Professor Layton and Luke come across in St. Mystere's Market. She has a passion for baking, especially baking Potato Fritters which is Inspector Chelmey's favorite. She also appears in Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy, as she sets off around the world on her honeymoon with Inspector Chelmey.
Amelie wears a long yellow dress, and green shoes. She also carries a maroon handbag, and has dark grey hair.

Amelie Chelmey is seen in a newspaper article about her husband cracking a case in London. The newspaper article becomes in the possession of Professor Layton and Luke in the Market in Chapter 5: The Hunt Begins.
It becomes apparent in Chapter 8 that Inspector Chelmey is an impostor and is in fact Don Paolo. When Don Paolo was impersonating Inspector Chelmey, he mentioned his wife as being called Jane. Chelmey's wife is called Amelie and Professor Layton used this against Don Paolo when he accused Layton of 'killing' Simon Reinhold.
Amelie, along with Inspector Chelmey, is seen in the various locations around the world that Professor Layton and the others visit, as they set off on their honeymoon. Before they set off from London, Amelie is seen talking to Inspector Grosky, who she reveals to the group that he is her brother.
"Amelie may be Inspector Grosky's sister, but their personalities could not be any more different. She is a kind and loving wife to Inspector Chelmey, and knows just what kind of cake to bake to lift him out of a funk. Whenever he is a storm cloud, she is the ray of sunshine that breaks through."
