Toward the end of the game, both Doland and Brenda are freed from the cellar by Emmy. Brenda also appears in the last cutscene to see Luke off as he goes back to London with Professor Layton and Emmy.

[edit] Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy

"Brenda is Luke's loving mother and an old friend of Professor Layton's. She met Clark during her time at Gressenheller, and they've been together ever since. The bizarre souvenirs she brings back from her travels often bemuse her family, but Brenda herself remains blissfully unaware of this."
