[edit] Plot

Chapter 1: The Mask of Chaos
As Professor Layton and the group pass through Oasis Street to reach the Ledore Mansion, they are stopped by Frankie, and not letting them pass. Conner then invites himself into the commotion, proposing a way to settle it with a battle of wits, with his game of finding a ball under four silver tumblers. Frankie beats Luke in the first round, and beats Emmy the second time. After Layton sees through Conner's trick, he finds the ball before Frankie does, which causes Conner to tell him to leave for losing to his game. He then lets Layton and the others through for showing admirable skill.

Chapter 3: The Battle of Monte d'Or
Professor Layton and the group encounter Conner on their way to the Gallery Plaza, where he is admiring himself in the neon lights. Looking at his face, Layton says it reminded him of a puzzle, but Emmy reminds him that not everything is a puzzle.

Chapter 5: Miracles Unmasked
Conner comes along in the Scorpion Casino to settle a feud between Frankie and Professor Layton with a puzzle battle. He explains the rules, and Frankie makes the first move in completing the puzzle. He asks Layton if he was willing to admit defeat, however, he declares there is a more "elegant" solution. He told them a magic square adds the diagonals up to 15 as well, and that he could do it by moving two chips. Frankie and Conner didn't believe this was possible, but gave Layton the chance. By using the chips to move other chips across the board, Layton was able to complete the magic square in two moves, and thus beating Frankie. Conner found this method to be inspiring, and declares victory to Layton. He tells Frankie to leave, telling him to be a good sport. Drake comments on his skillful arbitration, and offers a reward. Conner gladly wanted to accept it, and Drake tells him to drop in some time.

Chapter 7: The Reunion Inn
Professor Layton and the group find Frankie and Conner in the Reunion Inn, discussing what their next scam would be. Conner tells Frankie he wasn't sure their partnership was working out, as Frankie always managed to find a away to mess up his plans, calling him useless. Layton tries to cease the argument, and Conner asks why he was in his hotel room. He explains he wanted to search the room as part of the Masked Gentleman case, but would only let him once he solved his puzzle. Afterwards, he lets Layton search the room.
