[edit] Plot

Chapter 3: The Battle of Monte d'Or
As Professor Layton and the group are leaving the Dalston Mansion, Gonzales comes rushing to deliver two letters to both Layton and the Dalston, from the Masked Gentleman. The letters had read that he would appear in the Gallery Plaza that evening.

Before heading to the Gallery Plaza, the group stop by the Dalston Mansion, and Gonzales tells them that Dalston was already heading to the Plaza, and so gives them a puzzle as to not waste their time coming to his mansion.

Chapter 5: Miracles Unmasked
Professor Layton and the group drop by Dalston Mansion, and him and Gonzales formally introduce themselves. Gonzales tells Layton that he was cooking dinner, when he had got a call to be informed that Alphonse Dalston was arrested. He knew Dalston hadn't done anything wrong, but Layton assures him they would help him out and catch the real criminal as soon as they could. Gonzales goes back to cleaning windows for Dalston's return.

The group visit Gonzales again, and he feels lost without Dalston. He wanted to testify on his behalf, but was told he had to wait until the trial, and then came home to see a window was smashed. He thought to fix it to perhaps relax himself for when Dalston returned, if he ever did. Layton assures him that they would do everything to help prove his innocence, and asks if Gonzales knew anything to do with the case. Unfortunately he didn't, but was obliged to think that Henry Ledore was involved in it, and states that Dalston was a good man despite not being popular in town. This causes Layton to ask him how the two met, to which he stated that he needed a job, and so Dalston hired him, treating him with dignity over the years.

Chapter 7: The Reunion Inn
Gonzales comes running through the Dromedary Hotel in search for Professor Layton, to give him his thanks for clearing Dalston's name. He told Layton that he was returning to the Dalston Mansion, and offered for him to drop by. Layton and the group then decide to make their first stop here. The group quickly drop by the Dalston Mansion, and Gonzales invites them in, as Dalston was eagerly awaiting their arrival.

Later that night, they drop by again and Gonzales offers to get them something. Layton told him it wouldn't be necessary, and so Gonzales comments how he rarely gets to entertain, as people don't drop by often. He sometimes wonders that Dalston gets lonely, and so tells Layton to drop by whenever there was a lull in the investigation.

[edit] Biography

"Gonzales was originally a first-rate chef at the Reunion Inn, until he had a row with the owner and was ushered promptly out. Fortunately, Dalston took pity and hired him as his personal butler. Gonzales now shares an affinity with his oddball boss that none can ever hope to match."
