Maurice has white fur with black stripes. He wears a navy blue cap with a red stripe running across it.
Maurice gives you the following puzzles in Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask:
Chapter 3: The Battle of Monte d'Or
Luke tries to talk to Maurice to get information out of him about the Masked Gentleman case, however before he can ask, Maurice presents a puzzle he needs solving. He then tells Luke that he was good friends with Alphonse Dalston, and wasn't ferocious like he was made out to be. Dalston had been with Maurice the previous night at the time of the petrification incident, and brought him treats. With this in mind, neither him nor the members of the One-Ring Circus could be behind the Masked Gentleman's acts.
In a special episode, Dalston comes to visit Maurice, bringing with him some treats, and rambling on to him how Henry Ledore had the same assets as him, but higher profits, as well as the Masked Gentleman ruining things for the city. He felt that Maurice understood him, and so they agreed Dalston would name his next hotel after him.
Chapter 5: Miracles Unmasked
Maurice expresses his sadness to Luke that Alphonse Dalston was arrested, as he felt lonely. Luke assured him that he would be free soon; Maurice growls to him that he loved to talk with Dalston, even though he couldn't understand a word he was saying.
Chapter 7: The Reunion Inn
Luke talks to Maurice, and he discovers that Alphonse Dalston had told him he thought Professor Layton was amazing for getting him out of trouble. Luke also mentions something that Maurice had said it would be difficult to get through to Dalston "on that level", however it is unclear what they are talking about.
Later that night, Maurice was telling Luke how he didn't want people to think he was scary, and also wanted his help with a puzzle. He also tells Luke about something being beneath the Monte d'Or.
"Allow me to present the feline star of One-Ring Circus, the ferocious Maurice! But he's just a big baby, really. In fact, he only goes wild when it's dinner time! He has to hear Dalston's gripes on a daily basis, but he likes the attention, even if he finds Dalston's problems bewildering."
