[edit] Plot

Prologue: The Dark Parade
In the first special episode where Emmy is off conducting her own investigations about the Masked Gentleman, she approaches Nils to ask him a few questions about the Gentleman. He tells her that he has performed such miracles as making paintings come alive, people turning into horses, and setting fire to people. After he tells her this information, she lets him off, as he was interested in watching the parade.

Chapter 1: The Mask of Chaos
In search for the costume boutique on the Merchant District, Professor Layton and the group run into Nils, who points them in the direction of the costume boutique. Layton thanked him, however Nils told him he didn't need to be so formal.

Chapter 3: The Battle of Monte d'Or
Upon exiting the Ledore Mansion, Professor Layton and the others find Nils standing outside the gate. He had been thinking about the things happening in Monte d'Or lately, and about the massive power struggle. He tells Layton how Henry Ledore and Angela had been building up Monte d'Or for years, and how Alphonse Dalston tried to compete with his businesses. With the Masked Gentleman targeting Henry's businesses, he suspects that Dalston could be involved with the Masked Gentleman, and advises Layton to talk to him about it.

Chapter 5: Miracles Unmasked
Nils has heard of Alphonse Dalston being arrested, but doesn't think it seems to add up, since he is a wealthy man trying to build his businesses. Professor Layton agrees, but Luke reminds him that the Masked Gentleman would be wealthy as well. Nils tells them that the police weren't so smart, and couldn't even solve a puzzle he then gave Luke. Luke asks Nils how he was so well-informed in the police business, and he tells them they were a bunch of loudmouths, and that this wasn't the first case they botched up, and had even thought to give them a hand. He notes that the Masked Gentleman had so much potential to do good, but says that the police at least have someone to blame.

Nils notices that Layton and the group are still investigating, and sees that the police hadn't changed their mind about Dalston yet. He seems to think that they don't change their minds easily, and would take another bout of criminal activity before they did, which Layton was sure would happen.

Chapter 7: The Reunion Inn
Nils had heard of the Masked Gentleman turning up at Pumpkin Park the previous night, but hadn't seen him. Emmy explains to him that he only appeared to a certain few. This made Nils think that he was losing his touch, as he normally performed in front of large crowds.

Nils had the feeling that night something would happen; he wasn't sure what it was, but something seemed like there is danger lurking. Luke hoped that his mind was playing tricks on him.

[edit] Biography

"A logical mind is often accompanied by a lack of imagination, and Nils fits this image to a tee. He's a skeptic through and through, with such a worldly air about him that it's hard to believe he's just a teenager recently arrived from the countryside."
