Sammy wears a blue hat with a silver symbol in the middle of it. He has light brown hair and black sunglasses. He wears a grey undershirt and a blue jacket. He wears matching jeans with black boots.
Sammy has an upbeat personality and is one of the wildest characters in the Professor Layton Series so far. His interests include only one thing, Rock and roll.
Sammy gives the following puzzles in Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box:
Near the beginning of the story he breaks his uncle's camera and gives you the task to find the broken pieces which begins the search for the Camera puzzle. However, although working on the Molentary Express, he only seems to be there so his uncle can mock and degrade him and does all the footwork for Beluga, including his search for the Elysian Box. At one point however Sammy grows tired of the way his uncle treats him and rebels, which causes Beluga to shun him for the remainder of Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box.
Sammy makes an appearance in the movie as a cameo, he is seen in Professor Layton's classroom early on in the movie.
"Beluga's nephew, Sammy, only has one thing on his mind: pedal-to-the-metal rock and roll. By day, he's just a normal train conductor, but once he grips the mike, he transforms into his wild, rock-star alter ego, Sammy Thunder."
